I think most people could easily work out how to use these coffee makers. But, just in case, here’s what to do:

Place the stainless steel filter into the glass carafe.

Put your ground coffee into the filter.

Pour your hot water over the coffee and let it drip through into the carafe.

When that’s done, pour yourself a cup by removing the filter, inserting the lid, and then pouring as usual!

It couldn’t be much simpler to use and I love how the filter’s reusable too. This is a positive change to most other makers, which rely on disposable paper ones.

Of course, it also means you’ll never risk going without a morning coffee!

The Bodum campervan coffee maker also comes in different sizes, allowing you to pick one that has an adequate capacity and fits inside your campervan. The removable cuff is a nice touch that’ll protect your hands from hot glass.

As for negatives, you may get frustrated at waiting for the coffee to collect in the carafe (although this would be the case for any pour over maker you buy) and the carafe itself could, in theory, break (although the heat-resistant borosilicate glass is meant to be durable).

Having used these classic Italian coffee makers on numerous occasions, I can 100% vouch for the quality of a) the product and b) the coffee they make.

It’s as rich and velvety as Bialetti promise it’ll be!

These (supposed) 3-cup models are super small and lightweight too, weighing in at just over 1lb.

That’s good news when you’re travelling light in a small van.

With polished aluminium and an impressive brand reputation, you can expect a high-quality product all-around here.

For me, though, as much as I appreciate its smallness, I’d question whether it’d give me enough coffee in the morning!

I like starting the day with a big, strong cup of coffee, so the 2 (and a bit) espressos it makes may not be enough I was making coffee for more than just me.

Sure, if I wanted to top it up to make an Americano, I could simply boil up some water at the same time. But that added work might feel like an inconvenience.

The aluminium body would get hot too, so you’d have to be careful about burns.

Oh, and definitely don’t buy the Bialetti if you have an induction hob. It only works on standard gas stoves.

If you’re packing light, love a good espresso, and have a gas cooker, though, you’re almost guaranteed to love these particular camper coffee makers!
